Guerilla Burlesque 2012

Guerilla Burlesque ... your party just got dirty

Inspired by a competition for the cover of BOSL magazine, the divas of Guerilla Burlesque were a-flurry last week for a photo shoot with astonishing photographer Graham Collinson. Graham works entirely within SL - no post-processing, no photoshop at all, and you can see the results, and the reason for our excitement, in his video.

Graham took a number of really beautiful photographs, and this one was chosen as the new promo shot (a small amount of post-processing by chry with Graham's approval). A framed version has been sent out to the Idle Rogue group and subscription list, and you can still get the 2011 promo "They're Coming ..." on the notecard contained in the new version.

or, indeed, you could download it right here :-)
Diva Kiriam McIntyre very generously invited us to use her stunning home for the photo shoot, and this first release, "Party Dirty" was shot in Kiri and Max's atrium. Kiri also built the dressing room set you will see in other photos, which will be released over coming weeks.

Guerilla Burlesque have exciting plans to expand their interactions with their fanbase over the coming months, and you are encouraged to join the Idle Rogue inworld group or the subscription list to keep up-to-date with the dynamic divas. You can also join us on Facebook as we build momentum into 2012.

Guerilla Burlesque perform a weekly dance revue in their purpose-built theatre at Idle Rogue. Doors open at 11:45pm for a midnight start, every Friday.

What would the Idle Rogues do?

Chewie Quixote turned her camera on the Rogues recent theme night "What Would Sexy Wear?" (a hat tip to Guerilla Burlesque diva, SexyS Quintessa, whose avatars truly run from the sublime to the ridiculous and back again). This is what happens when the Idle Rogues get together for fun.

Idle Rogue 2011 - a slideshow

This was much more fun when it had music, which was about two seconds before I realised that having music would cost money. Ah well. Put a good tune on and enjoy :-)

An Idle Rogue Christmas

This year's big holiday event is now booking, with the first acts announced today and more to come.

Save the date! From midnight on friday night, we have some of the best and freshest live performers on the grid:

12am - Jordan Reyne - the siren of steampunk, Jordan is nothing if not a rogue, and her rich alto voice and folk noir tales are a well-known highlight of Idle Rogue's live music.
1am - Hazideon Zarco - One of Idle Rogue's oldest and most reliable friends, Hazideon Zarco's strong vocals and distinctive guitar style are a feature of his original alternative rock
2am - Tallyesin - The fresh new talent audiences are raving about, Tallyesin is in posession of a highly polished gift and a refreshing attitude
3am - Pol Arida - Idle Rogue's long loose association with Pol Arida is based purely on our utter adoration of a performer whose unique musicality and razored lyrics is one of the highlights of live music in SL
4am - Kristopher Walpole - another fresh talent who joined the Idle Rogue stable late this year, Kristopher Walpole's lush lyrics and melodic guitar are both lovely and wistful, in a performance that is delightful every time.

We are delighted to be presenting some of our favourite artists of 2011 in one concert event, and look forward to kickstarting a fabulous festive season with you at Idle Rogue!
